Welcome to NIPTE, Inc.

NIPTE, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to fundamental research and education in pharmaceutical product development and manufacturing. NIPTE’s goal is to increase science and engineering-based understanding of this area such that novel state-of-the-art technologies can be developed and science-based regulations can be implemented. These technologies will also enable new drug discoveries to be brought to market faster with less variability, higher predictability of performance and at a significantly lower cost.

NIPTE Funding

Internal grants and contracts are limited to principal investigators from NIPTE member institutions in response to a specific RFP. Funding will be awarded to eligible applicants on a competitive basis following NIPTE's rules and procedures. The funds can be used for research purposes to support salaries, supplies, scientific services and other expenses directly associated with the specific research project. Institutional F&A costs are limited to a maximum of 20% of the allowable total direct costs.

NIPTE is working on a variety of new research project and ideas. These projects are related to the implementation of Quality by Design (QbD), which is a key element of FDA’s effort to implement the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidances Q8, Q9 and Q10. Implementation of QbD will offer the possibility of improving product quality through improving process understanding and building robust processes that will not fail in manufacturing. The list of these projects will be posted on this site soon.
