Member Institutions

NIPTE is a unique, non-profit independent consortium of pharmaceutical science and engineering programs across 13 major research universities.

While NIPTE’s original focus from its founding in 2005 was to provide research and educational expertise and facilitate dissemination of the science of pharmaceuticalmanufacturing, additional priorities consistent with FDA’s and Industry’s focus on regulatory reform related to Generic Drug and Biologics approval, and facilitating drug development in academic research settings that enhances translation from the laboratory to the clinic have now emerged as important consortial strengths. NIPTE scientists regularly work with the Food and Drug Administration, the pharmaceutical industry as well several of the drug development programs within the National Institutes of Health. While each of these great universities continues to perform research and education vital to the enhancement of pharmaceutical development and translation for the benefit of human health, this collaborative allows us to leverage UNIQUE expertise and facilities across our institutions to address large scale research and policy related questions with a major focus on enhancing efficiency of drug development and reducing the time to market for new drug products and other therapeutics.
